Registration for 2017 Sai MediCare Camp – Vanua Levu, Fiji is now open.

Date of the event is: Saturday, 12 August – Sunday, 20 August 2017

For those interested in participating in 2017, please fill out your details online in the team registration e-form and forward all particulars per instructions in the form by 26 February 2017. Interested persons are urged to register early to secure a spot.

Four days of free medical camps will be conducted on Fiji’s big island of Vanua Levu. The regional areas chosen in 2017 are Bulileka (pronounced Booli-leka ) and Bocalevu (pronounced Bother-levu).

Schedule of Sai Medicare Camp in August, 2017 will be as follows :

  • Sat 12th – Team flys from AU / NZ to Nadi, Fiji
  • Sun 13th – Team flys from Nadi-to-Labasa followed by half day medical conference at Sangam Nursing School, Labasa
  • Mon 14th – Thur 17th Free Sai medical camps in Bulileka (2 days), and Bocalevu (2 days)
  • Fri 18th – Team flys from Labasa to Nadi
  • Sat 19th – Rest/recreation day in Nadi
  • Sun 20th – Team leave for home flying back to AU / NZ

In addition a separate small surgical team over the course of the aforementioned period will also be working at Labasa General Hospital. Theatre nurse, post-operative care, intensive care and other specialities (skin, eye, gynaecology, psychiatry) and other specialists are invited to join.

Accommodation arrangement at the hotel in Labasa will be on twin share basis due to limited availability of rooms. Over the course of stay in Vanua Levu, the Sai MediCare team will travel daily from Labasa to the aforementioned regional camp-sites.

Due to ever rising popular demand from around Australia and New Zealand, we request you submit your registration details online as soon as possible. It is likely the total number of members participating in the 2017 Sai MediCare camp will be 40-45 individuals comprising of surgeons, medical & dental professionals, clinicians, nurses, para-medical and a limited number of general volunteers.

There will be a selection process if greater numbers of individuals register for this camp. Also, the registration date may close early if the Sai Medical Unit gets enough registrants.
